UK Roads: Croydon

...I have a possible entry for your incomplete Ring Roads. I would like to 'nominate' Croydon in Surrey. In the 50's and 60's they started to construct dual carriageways, elevated flyovers, and an underpass. It was meant to end up as a Ring Road but was never completed. The East Side (A212 Wellesley Road) was completed in 1963-1965; the South Side (A232 Croydon Flyover) was completed in 1969; and the West Side (A236 Old Town & Jubilee Bridge) was completed in 1977. The North Side, which was meant to run from the northern end of the Jubilee Bridge dual carriageway to the northern end of the Wellesley Road dual carriageway, was never built and now is 95% to 100% likely never to exist, but it was a brave attempt at a Ring Road...
